2017 Walk Information:

The Apraxia Connection is so excited to be hosting the 9th Annual Walk for Children with Apraxia! This fun filled family event is a favorite for many reasons. Not only do we raise awareness about apraxia of speech, we are also able to celebrate the children who work so hard to tell us what is on their mind. All proceeds will benefit local families affected by apraxia and related disorders through The Apraxia Connection and also fund research and education programs through CASANA, the national organization focusing specifically on apraxia of speech.

Register for our family friendly one mile walk around Ty Warner Park in Westmont. Registration begins at 9 a.m. in the pavilion near Plaza and Burr Oak Drive and the walk starts there at 10. Immediately following the walk there will be games and entertainment by Strictly Music Chicago, prizes for all ages and networking with parents and therapists affected by apraxia and related disorders. This year we will be recognizing all children with apraxia of speech. Please be sure to park in designated parking spaces – there is another parking lot near Blackhawk Drive and Plaza Drive. Also, please come dressed for the weather as we plan to walk in rain or shine. Note, no pets allowed.

All proceeds from the walk will benefit local, regional, and national apraxia programs and research for the national organization CASANA and the local nonprofit The Apraxia Connection.
